September is Library Card Sign-up Month!

Announcements

A library card is the coolest card!  Studies show that children who are read at home and who use the library perform better in school. September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and Fannin County Public Library is joining with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide encourage every student to not forget an important school supply– a free library card!

Resources at the Fannin County Public Library are available to anyone who has a library card. Students can turn to the library for materials, events, and knowledgeable library staff that support academic achievement.  We offer free access to GALILEO, which has research databases on a variety of subjects.  Through GALILEO, students can access the LearningExpress Library, which has SAT, ACT, and GED test prep and academic skills improvement for all ages.  Our Librarian is also available to proctor tests for college students.

Our library offers access to a variety of print and digital resources, including books, reference materials, DVDs, CDs, ebooks, and audiobooks that can be accessed in person or online. For young children we offer early literacy and storytimes to encourage school readiness. For adults and those not in school, we have abundant resources for self-guided, lifelong education and life enrichment. There’s really something for everyone and it’s all free with a library card.

For more information on how to sign up for a library card, visit the Fannin County Public Library in person, call us at 706-632-5263, or visit the library online at gapines.org.
