Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.”

O Shepherd of our souls, we know that we must all go through the valley of the shadow of death. We face it when we place our loved ones into your eternal keeping. We face it when our numbered days are up. Even though we may fear death we do not fear the evil consequences of our sins because You have cleansed and forgiven us by Your grace. No evil can touch us then.

How blessed to know that we do not have to cross the Jordan alone because You are ever with us in life and in death. Your shepherd’s rod both drives away the dangers from us and is used to draw us closer to Yourself. We praise You for receiving us when life is over. In Jesus Name.
