FCHS FFA Members Attend Awards Banquet

Fannin County High School FFA members attended the Area 1 FFA Awards Banquet on May 13, 2014. The banquet was held at Chattahoochee Technical College in Jasper.FFA members from across the area gathered to celebrate their accomplishments for the year. FCHS members received many plaques and monetary awards. Lucas Ryan and Hunter Patterson served as official voting delegates which had the task to elect the new area officer team, Lexie Jacobs received the first place individual award for the horse evaluation career development event, Lakota Towe represented the horse evaluation CDE team and received the first place award, Cody O’Neal placed first in the treasurer leadership award and gold award for tractor operations CDE, Lucas Ryan placed second in the reporter leadership award and gold in wildlife management CDE, Amy Reynolds received the first place award in the floral design career development event, David Roberson represented the environmental natural resources career development event team and was presented the second place award, Daniel Shields represented the wildlife management career development event team and received the second place award and gold in the wildlife management CDE.

Not in attendance was Nathan Ensley who won 2nd place in the lawnmower operations career development event.

The chapter was presented the first place National FFA Week application award, also very member who competed in a CDE received either a gold, silver, or bronze award. Other members attending were Taylor VanZandt- gold horse evaluation CDE team, Courtney Cruse-gold horse evaluation CDE team, Tyler Messer-gold environmental natural resources CDE team, Jake Davis, Lazaro Sanchez, Trey Campbell, Seth Davis- silver job interview and poultry evaluation, Montana Pearson- gold floral design CDE, and Katie Patterson.
