Kenneth Earl Tague, age 85 of Blairsville, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Union General Hospital.Mr. Tague was born February 24, 1929 in Logan, IA to the late Cyrus and Corene Hodges Tague. He was a member of the Blairsville Church of Christ where he loved to worship God with his church family. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Tague, Jr., and his first wife, Merle Tague.

Ken loved life and his family. He liked to travel and has been to all of the 50 states and several foreign countries. He loved to go on cruises. Ken was also a licensed pilot, attaining that goal at the age of 16. Another of his hobbies was building and flying radio controlled airplanes. Ken was a huge music fan. Country music was his favorite. He and his brother, Larry, formed a country band and entertained for several years. Among his many interests and hobbies was building computers, not just assembling them, but building them, from the mother board to the finished computer. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Air Force as an Electronics Technician. After returning to civilian life, Ken worked as a heavy equipment operator. Although he could operate almost any equipment, his primary job was that of Crane Operator. Above all else, Ken loved his God, his family and his country.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Tague of Blairsville, son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Lucrecia Tague of Washington, DC, son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Tina Tague of Murfreesboro, TN, daughter, Tammy Jo Holcombe of Greer, SC, step-sons, Dan and Steve Rhoten of Blairsville, sister, Mary Allison of Lenoir City, TN and, Brother, Larry Tague of Council Bluffs, IA, grandchildren: Lorena Tague, Guliano Tague, Donna Jo Holcombe, Kelli Holcombe, Keith Basualdo, Fredrico Basualdo, Kaitlyn Rhoten, Jill Tague, and Krystal Tague, and great grandchildren, Apollo Tague, Dylan and Wyatt Nelson and Landon Tague.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 18, 2014 at 7:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Minister Terry Stuart officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Greer, SC with military honors by the United States Air Force. Serving as pallbearers: Dan Rhoten, Steve Rhoten, Randy Diatillio, James Allison Sr., James Allison Jr., and Darrell Brown.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Friday, July 18, 2014 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimers Foundation at www.alzfdn.org.
