Jack Edward Brown, age 78 of Canton, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went home to be with the Lord July 18, 2013. He was born January 18, 1935 in Fannin County to the late William H. and Edith Queen Brown. He was a very active member of Birmingham United Methodist Church where he worked with the tape ministry providing tapes for home bound folks. He enjoyed mechanical work and had a knack for being able to repair almost anything mechanical. He retired from Atlanta Natural Gas as plant supervisor. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed yard work and feeding the birds. He was preceded in death by brother, Billy Joe Brown and brother-in-law Roy Quintrell.

Survivors include: wife of 59 years, Kay Hood Brown, children, Becky (Anthony) Morgan, Bill Brown and Londa (Mark) Hipp, siblings, Bob (Rachel) Brown and family, Helen-Marie Quintrell and family, Nancy (Steve) Flecher, William (June) Brown and family, sister in law, Camille Brown, grandchildren, Kayla and Logan Hipp, Tony (Tammy) Morgan, April (Michael) Mooney and Brian (Amanda) Morgan, great grandchildren, Blake and Chase Morgan, Hayden, Slade and Maddie Mooney, Trevor and Katie Morgan.

Funeral services: Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 12:00 Noon from Birmingham United Methodist Church in Alpharetta with Rev. Dave Benson, Rev. John Wolf and Rev. William Rorie officiating. Music by Sherry Bruner, Sonya Lewis, and Birmingham United Methodist Church Choir. Additional services will be held Sunday July 21, 2013 at 2:00PM from the First Baptist Church in McCaysville with Rev. Harry Gilbert and Rev.William Rorie officiating. Music will be provided by Sonja Lewis, Harry and Katie Gilbert Interment followed in Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: Gilbert Lewis, Tony Morgan, Brian Morgan, Michael Mooney, Logan Hipps, Bob Welch, Tom Foster, Gilbert Lewis, Bob Moore, Jim Chavis, Ken Franchine, Tal Cox, Charlie Bechtel, Logan Hipp, Ashley Thigpen, Byron Foster, Jonathan Wolfe. Honorary pallbearers: Herbert Hood, Frank Beaver and Lindsey Durden.
