Luther “Elmer” Trantham, age 82, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed away March 18, 2012 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA.Mr.Trantham was born in Cherokee County, NC on November 6, 1929 to the late John Trantham and the late Zillie Swanson Trantham.

Survivors include: wife of 33 years, Rosie Lee Trantham, step-son, Coye (Betty) Watkins, step-son, C. L. (Bea) Watkins, step-son, Harold (Becky) Watkins, step-son Mike (Alice) Watkins; step-daughter, Geraldine (Lemont) Womac, step-daughter, Kathy (Cecil “Fibber”) Payne, step-daughter, Betty (Jerry) Bowers, step-daughter, Mary (Randy “Preacher”) Newberry, brother, Ellard Trantham, twenty nine grandchildren, seventy two great grandchildren, twenty three great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Watkins, and Rev. Doyle Davis officiating. Music provided by Melissa, and Melinda. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Wolf Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers: “Chipmunk” Jason Watkins, “High Pockets” Scott Watkins, Leather Britches” Darrel Watkins, “R. T.” Rich Taylor, Jermiah Chapman, and Joshua Chapman. Honorary pallbearers: all other grandsons.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home, Tuesday, March 20, 2012 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
