Here’s a piece of Superbowl trivia that might win you an extra bet (only fetchyournews.com readers will know…shhhhh): How many players in the Super Bowl hail from Georgia?

NINE players are Georgia home-grown — five for the Steelers, four on the Packers’ roster.

The obvious — wide receiver Hines Ward — played for the University of Georgia. Linebacker Keyaron Fox, and rookie running back Jonathan Dwyer matriculated on the flats at Georgia Tech.

Defensive end Nick Eason is from Lyons, Georgia. He played high school ball in Toombs County and college at Clemson. Offensive tackle Chris Scott, a Lovejoy High School (Clayton County) product, played his college ball at the University of Tennessee. The Green Bay Packers have four players from Georgia. Rookie strong safety Morgan Burnett, of North Clayton High School in Atlanta, played for Georgia Tech. Jarius Wynn, a defensive end, is a Lincoln County product and played college ball at the University of Georgia.

Defensive back Josh Gordy, of Washington High School in Sandersville, Georgia, played for Central Michigan. Outside linebacker Erik Walden, a Dublin High School (Dublin, Georgia) product, played at Middle Tennessee State.
